Xtract is where records can be extracted from the full database on the basis of certain selection criteria e.g. text search on job title contains "Marketing".  Selections can be made on any variable available within a record and can include a combination of criteria.  This creates an extremely powerful tool for marketing managers to perform global selections.

The XTRACT menu allows users to:

  • Create a query
  • Define selection criteria for a query
  • Edit a query
  • Edit  selection criteria for a query
  • Run a  query
  • View the outcome of your query
  • Extract any information  by compiling a query compiled out of criteria on job-title ,  industry code, purchase date etc.
  • Display the result of the query, browse through the result and generate breakdowns of records in matrixes

A query is a combination of selection criteria . The query-statement searches across the full database, for names that match  those criteria. The result of the query, can be export, output to list, or incorporate in a job that needs to be processed and deduplicated afterwards.
