DM4U homepage:

  • On the home page the system will show you under which name you are logged on, and to which usergroup you belong. In the quick-start section, you will find  shortcuts to MS-Excel and MS-Word.
  • Every usergroup, has certain access rights in the system. An overview of access rights per user group you will find in DB Admin menu.
  • Only the database administrator has access to all menu's. It is recommended that only the database administrator has access to the Administration menu.

BASIC SCREEN MODES AND NAVIGATION THROUGH THE SYSTEM

  • To navigate through the system, all you need is your mouse, click and double click, and the icons that are displayed at the bottom of your screen.
  • To quote an enthusiastic user "It is very intuitive.. (to use)"
  • Legend on Icons displayed at bottom of screen:

Maginfying glass - quick search on last set criteriaBinoculars: activates the Search screen for look-up of records in database.Blank Form: to create a new record.Pen & Paper: to edit a recordDisk & pencil: save  Red cross: to delete this record, to be used with great caution.  Blue arrow: Cancel / abort this operation.Printer: print this record, form or report.Door: to exit the form you are  in, or the whole menu. 

SEARCH MODE / LOOK-UP OF RECORD

  • If you are looking for a specific record, you can set the system in search mode, by clicking on the binoculars. It will display the search screen, which exists in most menu's, it displays a tree in left hand column; double click on the field you would like to execute a search command on and enter your criteria.

EDIT MODE

  • First search, then edit. To set the system in edit mode, click the edit-icon. In contact management, when creating a new company entry, the system will execute an on-line search for you, to avoid creation of duplicate entries. After having made your amendments, click the save icon.

CREATION MODE

  • You can create a new record on for all kinds of entries in the system, e.g. a contact, a company, a campaign, etc. Just click on the create-icon, the blank form.
